Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Crash

On November 27 just before 4p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Laureldale (Co13) and Muhlenberg (Co66) to the area of 2929 Pricetown Rd. for a vehicle fire. Berks Radio then advised this was a crash with fire, vehicle into the woods based on additional calls. Chief 13 (Feltenberger) reported a working fire with vehicle into woods on his arrival. Arriving apparatus used 1 line to control the fire. Fortunately the occupant was not injured and got out of the vehicle with the assistance of bystanders and was evaluated by EMS at the scene. Rescue struts were used to assist in securing the vehicle until the tow company arrived to remove it which took some time since it had gone so far off the road. Everybody was able to clear the scene by 5:15p.m. The crash is under investigation by the State Police at Reading.
