Mt. Penn Fire Company

Amity Township Structure Fire

On July 19th just after 9a.m. Ladder 1 was dispatched to assist Amity Twp (Co’s 49 & 6) and several other companies with a reported structure fire at 92 Toll Gate Rd. Amity units responding reported a visible smoke header from some distance out and on arrival found a working garage fire with extension to the residence. A second alarm was struck for additional tankers and manpower due to the high heat and humidity. Several lines were needed to extinguish the fire. Units remained on scene for several hours performing extensive overhaul. Ladder 1 was able to clear shortly after 11a.m. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. This is the 3rd working fire Mt. Penn has responded to in 10 days.
