On April 8th at approximately 1:30pm crews were called to assist Monarch (Co 6) for a reported structure fire at 612 Monocacy Creek Rd. in Amity Township. As L1 was was leaving station it was upgraded to a working structure fire and the assignment changed from RIT to fire attack. The fire was located in a former church building that had been built in the late 1800’s and had been converted into a residence. L1 set up for master stream operations and also assisted with opening up. This fire eventually went to a second alarm to bring more manpower and equipment to the scene. After the fire was placed under control all crews performed extensive overhaul, returning to station about 5:00pm. The fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal.
