Assist to Lower Alsace on structure fire

On January 4 just after 9:30a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Exeter (Co25) to assist Lower Alsace (Co4) with a reported working structure fire at 22 Myrtle Ave. in the township.  FM23 (Gerhart) was on location with a working fire involving the porch area with possible extension into the house.  He was able to hold the fire in check by using extinguishers until the first apparatus arrived.  Damage was minimal and contained to the porch with only light smoke in the house and no extension.  Units cleared the scene just after 11:00a.m.  This fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
