On October 17 shortly after 1:30a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Lower Alsace (Co 4) to the 600 block of S. 20th St. in the boro for a reported vehicle fire.  As crews were responding dispatch advised that the police were on location with a well involved vehicle which Deputy 1 (Wertz) confirmed upon his arrival.  The crew from Engine 1 placed one line in service to extinguish the fire and Co 4 stood ready to provide assistance with tools and extra water.  Crews cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.  This fire currently remains under investigation.
