With the winter upon us and the constant possibility of snow and ice we would like to provide information on a few things that can greatly aid emergency services should they have to respond to your house:
Be sure that your house number is clearly displayed and free of any accumulation of snow and ice so that it is clearly visible from the street. Numbers used should be a minimum of 3 inches in height.
Be sure that all walkways and sidewalks leading up to and around the house are free and clear of snow and ice. This not only makes it easier to access the property but provides much safer footing as well.
If you have a fire hydrant by your house do yourself and the neighborhood a favor and shovel it out so that it is easily accessible.
Remember, during an emergency SECONDS COUNT! By following these three simple things you can greatly assist emergency services in providing quick and efficient service to you, your family and the neighborhood.
