L1 assists Birdsboro

MtPennBirdsboroOn March 25 at approximately 2:30pm L1 was dispatched along with Co 7 (Birdsboro/Union), Co 6 (Monocacy) and Co 23 (Gibralter) to the area of N. Furnace St. & Church St. in Birdsboro for a structure fire.  Chief 7 was on scene reporting a working fire in the shed with extension to the structure at 121 N. Furnace St.  Crews had the fire knocked down within 20 minutes and spent the next hour doing overhaul and checking for extension in this renovated, but empty home.  The fire is currently under investigation by the Boro and State Police Fire Marshal.

Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
