Mt. Penn assists on rescue

MtPennLA

On October 22 shortly after noon, Mt. Penn was dispatched to assist Lower Alsace (Co4) on a rescue in the area of Klapperthal Junction along the train tracks.  A male had been climbing the rocks there and had slipped and fallen about 20ft causing leg and ankle injuries several hours earlier.  His exact location was unknown so Deputy 4 (Yohn) and Brush 4 entered from behind Forest Hills Cemetery in order to locate him.  Chief 4 (Faust) had Exeter (Co25) and Birdsboro (Co7) added for their jeeps and ATVs.  Once the victim was located he was removed to an ambulance near the intersection of the main railroad line and the spur line into the old Titus Station generating plant.  Units were able to clear shortly after 1:30p.m.
