Mt. Penn Fire Company

Rush hour vehicle crash

On October 18 just before 5p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Engine 4 (Lower Alsace) to the 2400 block of Perkiomen Ave. in the Boro for a vehicle vs a pole.  R1 arrived within a few minutes  and confirmed the dispatch with the location being N. 25th St. and Perkiomen Ave.  Once E1 arrived it was determined that E4 could return as there were only minor fluids down and the pole was stable.  The vehicle occupant was evaluated by Squad 555 (Lower Alsace EMS) and refused treatment.  Mt. Penn remained on scene providing traffic control with the police until the tow company was able to remove the vehicle.  Met-Ed was on the scene well into the night replacing the pole.
