Sad news from the 34 House

The officers & members of Mt. Penn send our sincerest condolences to our brothers & sisters at the top of the hill on the passing of Assistant Chief Eric Fox.

It is with deep regret that the Ruscombmanor Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of Assistant Chief Eric Fox on December 3rd after a long and courageous fight with cancer. Eric began his fire service career as a junior firefighter in 1981, serving as firefighter, Captain, and Assistant Chief from 1993-1998, then Chief from 1999-2009, and ending his watch as Assistant Chief from 2010 until his passing. Eric held various administrative offices within the fire company, and was also a past president of the Southeastern Berks Mutual Aid Fire District, and a member of the Fire Services Working Group.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 19th with additional information available after Saturday, December 5th.

Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
