On September 11, 15 years after the terrorist attacks on the United States, Mt. Penn and Lower Alsace fire companies, Central Berks Regional Police and Lower Alsace Ambulance took part in and were honored in a service at the Antietam Rec Center courtesy of the Antietam Valley Community Partnership and their generous sponsors. Similar events to honor those who place themselves in harm’s way everyday took place all around Berks County and the rest of this great nation of ours. We would like to thank AVCP for coordinating this event and having us as their guest of honor. We would also like to thank the entire community for their continued support of the emergency services in the Antietam Valley. We could not continue our mission without your help.
Although there are many pictures of the event that we could have posted here, one was taken by Cynthia Waldman (AKA Mrs. Chief), wife of Fire Chief Tim Waldman that we felt neatly summarized the appreciation, feelings and emotions of the day.
