Mt. Penn Fire Company

2nd Alsace Fire in 2 days

On November 14th shortly after 4p.m. Mt. Penn and several mutual aid companies were dispatched to 304 Spies Church Rd. in Alsace Township for a reported structure fire. Apparently, the resident came home to smoke detectors going off and heavy smoke in the building and quickly discovered the kitchen was on fire. Arriving units pulled one line which quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire which was placed under control at 4:34p.m. Crews checked for extension with none found but spent quite some time on overhaul and ventilating the smoke condition throughout the home. The home was turned over to the resident and units were able to clear by 5:30p.m. The fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental in nature.
