Alsace Structure Fire

On November 13th just before 4p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with several mutual aid companies to 260 Skyline Drive for a reported structure fire with the additional of black smoke coming from the rear of the structure. First arriving units confirmed this and made it a working fire. The initial units pulled 2 lines for heavy fire in the kitchen with some extension to the attic area. Command struck a 2nd alarm for more water and manpower as this area is more rural and has no fire hydrants. Fortunately, the sole resident and the dog were able to safely evacuate the home with no injuries. The fire was placed under control shortly after 4:30p.m. and units were able to begin clearing by 5p.m. This exact cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
