Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Vehicle Fire

Just before 4a.m. on August 14th Mt. Penn along with several other companies were dispatched for a possible structure fire at 499 Antietam Rd. in Alsace Township. Additional information from Berks indicated a vehicle fire close to the structure. Chief 12(Miller) arrived and confirmed a working vehicle fire with no structures involved. Arriving units quickly pulled two attack lines to extinguish the fully involved vehicle and the balance of the structure assignment was returned to station. No extension to the home or other vehicles was found with the fire being placed under control by Deputy 1(Eisenhard) at 4:10a.m. with units clearing the scene by 4:30a.m. The cause of the fire is believed to be mechanical failure of an engine component.
