Company called to assist Exeter

MtPennExeter On March 16 at approximately 7:45am the full company was dispatched along with Engine 4 (Lower Alsace), Rescue 64 (West Reading) and Reading City Rescue 1 to assist Exeter Twp (Co25) for a reported structure fire with entrapment at 218 Grande Valley Rd. in the Crestwood section of the township.

On arrival Exeter fire crews and Exeter police had forced entry and removed a male subject overcome by smoke to a waiting ambulance.  Heavy smoke was visible from the rear of the structure due to a fire in the kitchen which was quickly knocked down.  E1 had laid a supply line to Engine 25 but it was not needed.  L1 & R1 crews assisted with a search for other victims as well as ventilation and overhaul after the fire was knocked down.  All companies were released by command within one hour.  The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
