Mt. Penn Fire Company

Exeter Structure Fire

On October 30 shortly after 7pm Mt. Penn was dispatched, along several other companies to 14 Cranberry Ridge in the Laurel Springs development for a working structure fire. Exeter(Co25) had initially been dispatched for a grill fire that was reported out by the homeowner but on arrival found smoke and flames extending up the rear of the house from the deck into the roofline and immediately called for assistance. Crews used multiple ground ladders at the rear while Tower 25 made roof access from the front. Two lines were used to knock down the bulk of the fire within 15 minutes and crews spent the next half hour opening up and checking for further extension. The Red Cross was contacted for temporary housing for the occupants. Units were able to clear shortly after 8p.m.
