Mt. Penn Fire Company

Fall Back & Change your batteries

It’s that time of year again! We are not sure what happened to summer but here we are. Before you go to sleep this Saturday remember to roll the old clocks back 1 hour as Daylight Savings Time comes to an end. Although DST is essentially a useless thing of the past, it does provide an important reminder for all of us to change the batteries in our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Having working detectors in your home is the best way to prevent a tragedy from smoke & fire or carbon monoxide. In most fatal fires & carbon monoxide incidents there were either no detectors or detectors were found to be inoperable. DON’T become a statistic! If your alarm sounds evacuate the premises and call 911 to have the fire department respond to investigate.
