Mt. Penn Fire Company

Fire & Ice in Alsace Township

On June 3 shortly after 4p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with several other companies to assist Blandon(Co12) with a possible structure fire at the Sunoco station, 3123 Pricetown Rd. Additional information given on dispatch was that the ice machine on the outside of the building was on fire. As units were responding further information was given that somebody had used an extinguisher and the fire was believed out. The first arriving units confirmed that report and as others arrived they proceeded to check for any extension into the store with none being found. Power to the unit was secured and units were able to clear by 4:30p.m. with damage being limited to the ice machine and the outside wall of the building. An electrical short seems to be the cause of this problem.
