Mt. Penn Fire Company

Mohnton Structure Fire

On November 14 just after 6:15a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as the RIT company for a working structure fire at the Mohnton Fire Company Social Quarters located at 100 E. Summit Ave. in Mohnton Boro.   Originally this came in as a fire alarm and the first arriving units confirmed a working fire which brought additional resources to the scene from Berks & Lancaster Counties.  Eventually 3 alarms would be struck to bring additional manpower due to the amount of fire and the cold temperatures.  The fire was placed under control just before 8a.m. with extensive overhaul and is currently under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshall.  Units were able to begin clearing shortly after 8a.m.
