Mt. Penn Crash

Shortly after 2a.m. on April 29 Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Lower Alsace(Co4) for a vehicle crash with injuries at 23rd St. & Perkiomen Ave. which is a location both companies respond to several times each year.  As with many times in the past, the Boro signs at the intersection were wiped out along with a pole on the CVS side suffering severe damage.  Fortunately the driver only complained of a knee injury and was transported to the hospital by Lower Alsace EMS(Squad 555).  Crews applied oil dry to downed fluids and contacted Met-Ed to take care of the pole and wire damage.  Units were able to clear within 30 minutes.  The crash is under investigation by Central Berks Police.
