Mt. Penn Crash

On June 14th just before 9:30p.m. Mt. Penn and Lower Alsace(Co4) along with EMS were dispatched for a vehicle crash with injuries at Perkiomen Ave. & S. 23rd St. Arriving units found 3 vehicles with one person injured. On the arrival of EMS that patient was packaged and transported to the hospital. Others involved suffered no injuries. The companies applied oil dry to control the large amount of fluids down. It was discovered that one vehicle had completely sheared off the pedestrian crossing signal as well which still had the live electric wires attached. Fortunately Chief 1(Theodossiou) is an expert electrician and was able to safely disconnect power. Firefighters also assisted the tow company with loading two of the vehicles and cleaning the large debris field. The third vehicle was able to be driven away, having incurred only minor damage. All units were able to clear shortly after 10:00p.m.
