Mt. Penn Fire Company

Pike Township Structure

On July 9th shortly before 3p.m. Ladder 1 was dispatched, along with several other companies, to assist Oley (Co5) with a reported structure fire at 124 Ruppert School Rd. Responding units had no trouble finding it as a large column of smoke was visible from much of the Oley Valley Area and a second alarm was quickly struck for tankers and additional manpower due to the high heat and humidity. One building and a truck were fully involved and the fire extended into another nearby building. Crews worked with several lines to control the fire and perform the extensive overhaul required. Units began to clear shortly after 5p.m. The fire is under investigation by the PA State Police Reading Fire Marshall.
