Mt. Penn Fire Company

September starts quickly

On September 1st at 8:30 AM Rescue 1 was dispatched to assist Exeter at the St. Lawrence Post Office for a vehicle reported into the building. As the rescue was preparing to leave station a fire alarm came in at Reiffton Elementary School so crews were quickly split with one crew taking Ladder 1 to the fire alarm and the rescue crew proceeding to the post office where a car was found to have struck the building at the entrance. Fortunately the driver was unhurt. After crews cleared the alarm call they proceeded to the post office to assist Rescue 1 with ensuring there was no major structural damage & standing by until the tow company removed the vehicle. All units were able to clear shortly before 9:30a.m.

On a side note the post office sits across the street from the Turkey Hill which had a similar incident just 2 days ago.
