Rescue assist in Birdsboro

On December 13, shortly after 7p.m. the rescue was dispatched, along with Tower 25(Exeter) to assist Birdsboro(Co7) at the Birdsboro Power Plant, 1 Armorcast Rd. for a high angle rescue.  Initial reports were that a worker inside of a compartment was electrocuted.  When crews arrived the victim had been removed to the outside catwalk area by plant safety personnel.  Medics administered aid as other crews worked to lower him to ground level where he was placed in the ambulance and ultimately transferred to a medical helicopter for transport to Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Crews from 25 and 1 were able to clear the scene shortly after 8p.m.  Rescue 1 was then directed to standby at the Birdsboro station until they could finish wrapping up at the scene.  The rescue cleared the standby just before 9:30p.m.
