St. Lawrence Structure Fire

On December 8th shortly after 7p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Exeter(Co25) and several other companies to 3200 St. Lawrence Ave. for a reported kitchen fire. First arriving units found smoke showing from the front door and a working fire in the kitchen involving the stove area with extension into the cabinets and ceiling area. One line was used to knock down the fire within 5 minutes. Units spent the next 45 minutes removing the stove, venting the heavy smoke from the structure and performing overhaul to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. The Red Cross was notified in order to assist the occupants with temporary lodging. The Fire Marshal is investigating the exact cause.
