On March 2 about 5:15p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Exeter, Lower Alsace and City of Reading Engine 5 to 1115 Fox Run in the Mountain Park section of the township for a reported structure fire.  Arriving crews had a fire in the front bedroom of this 2 story townhouse and were quickly able to get it knocked down while ventilating and searching the structure.  The fire was contained to the bedroom with some extension into the hallway.  Crews were able to clear the scene within an hour.

On March 3rd just before 1a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as RIT on the second alarm to 113 2nd St. in Shillington for a structure fire with entrapment.  The crews on the initial alarm had a working fire with one person trapped on the second floor who they were able to rescue with a ground ladder.  Others in the house escaped on their own and all were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.  The Mt. Penn crew stood by as RIT for about an hour until the fire was brought under control and they were released by command.  The exact cause of this fire remains under investigation.
